At least that thought seems to apply to a portion of the right-leaning side of this Democratic Republic. Greene, Powell and ’Pillowman" quickly come to mind. Their claims are so absurd.
OK, I have my political Kevlar body armor and pain-relieving morphine shots ready. You may pummel me with angry text now. Pain is an old friend. ;-)
Calling a boy gay is considered an insult because it presumes he is “un-manly.” It apparently undermines other men’s machismo to have any feminine traits of any kind – such as artistry, emotions, intelligence, introversion, or being attracted to men. Not being male, I can’t pretend to understand the man code, though I think men need to be freed from that kind of discrimination.
It’s not just men who enforce the code, either. Women have appalled me by worrying about whether their preschooler playing with the toy kitchen and dress-up stuff at day care meant they were gay or telling their son not to play with “girl things”. Mothers seem to police their children’s compliance with norms of masculinity and femininity very strongly. More than one mom has told me that their kid likes “boy stuff” or “girl stuff” for birthdays, as though all boys and all girls like the same things. I tend to respond to that by getting art kits for the boys and science kits for the girls. They usually appreciate it, even if the parents look confused.
The objective is to get a rise from you, whether it’s the attempt to mock your religious beliefs, or your political beliefs, responding to them is their adrenaline score.
There are bullies here whom I respond to, in a condescending manner, because it it’s fun to do. When I get them to the point where they’re calling me names, I smile, and move on.
Gee, haven’t seen THIS one since January 24 of this year, four whole weeks! Almost a whole month ago. When it was in context. Why is the comic’s order so randomized? It’s not better this way.

Never play up to the stereotype. Especially if the stereotype is a total strawman.
