Where are the blades on Charlie Brown’s friend (is that Shermy?) in the first panel? Looks like he’s in his SHOES. And Charlie Brown has no blades in the second panel. I first thought they were sharing one pair of skates, but 3rd and 4th panels show both boys on skates. Obviously, as a skater, this struck me immediately. Shoes are more dangerous on ice than blades!

I fondly recall watching “ABC’s Wide World of Sports” on Saturday afternoons. The barrel jumpers were among my favorites.
