It takes the joy of winning away when Lucy can’t gloat.

I would just tell her I forfeit the next two thousand games. There. You just won 10 thousand games in a row.

That’s why they went from checkers to football.

When Lucy first appeared, she was significantly younger than Charlie Brown. That she could win 8000 times in 8000 games vs an older kid causes me to wonder if she is highly intelligent. Brown doesn’t seem to me to be an idiot.

Uh huh. Same attitude she’d have at loosing one game. Takes Charlie Brown thousands of loses to get to that attitude, after which he displays it with every further loss.
