Growing up in the 60s we were actually taught at school that “girls throw underhand, boys throw overhand.” A lot of us had learned to throw overhand before that.
There was a sign outside a local school for a girl’s softball program. It showed a girl about to throw and said “yes, I throw like a girl. Want some lessons?”
