How’s he going to send a letter when he doesn’t know her name, much less her address? I guess he could slip it in her desk at school, but that would require even more courage….
The CB in todays Peanuts Begins strip would have sent the letter in a romantic heartbeat. He still had some spunk. (Anyone else remember that great Ed Asner line about spunk?)
I had my own “little red-haired girl” when I was nine years old living in Flatwoods, KY. She lived a couple of streets away (about 200 yds) and I’d go over and hang out with her on her porch swing. Only lived there for a year, unfortunately, and as I got older, I got even more nervous around girls I “liked” – whatever hair color they had. :-)

We often learn to late that we should have gone ahead and sent that letter.

Couldn’t Charlie Brown’s relationship with the Little Red-Haired Girl be called “stalking?”

You know, if he actually ever talked to her, he might find out she actually does like him.
