Pushed it one strike too far, Lucy!

Sorry Lucy, they gave you two strikes more than you should have gotten because they were felling sorry for you. Until they realized you’d keep coming up with excuses. And cute is not a good excuse.

I somehow remember this one when reading a friend’s “Peanuts” book. (What kind of a game, Lucy? Maybe in the Calvin-and-Hobbes version of baseball.)

Usuless, you’ll miss the ball even with 20 strikes, Lucy.

Wonder what her “hit/strike” rate will be with boys when she is older? She isn’t doing to well with Schroedor right now.

To date, MLB baseball had only 5 strikes and a few lockouts.

Too bad for Lucy that she’s not playing baseball the way it was played originally. No strike count. The batter stood there until he got the pitch he wanted. Actually, when baseball was a gentlemen’s game, the striker (batter) told the pitcher where he wanted the ball to be.

Five strikes and you’re out!

She’s lucky the Pitcher was being kind. At that point, I might have thrown a bean ball; just to even up all the crabbiness she’s dished out.

Finally, Lucy got the bad luck.

Gym class in HS we got two strikes and if it was anywhere in reach of the bat it was a strike. The only foul balls were ones that went straight back everything else was fair.
