Has Lucy thought about becoming a singer? It would allow her to do something with Schroeder.

For all the “Schroeder likes Lucy” dreamers out there: It ain’t happening. Not now. Not never. Nugh uhn.

That was mean Schroeder, even to Lucy.

It’s wonderful how well these old strips hold up. 46 years old, yet it’s still fresh and still resonates, as this stream of comments shows.

She still hangs around knowing Schroeder doesn’t like her. She isn’t delusional like Peppermint Patty, but she has a hope that if she hangs around long enough, he will change his mind.

There’s always a loop hole…

Lucy: If you had feelings for me …

Shroeder: I have feelings for you – feelings of extreme revulsion.

Now, take out your frustration and hostility by whapping your baby brother in the head.

These are almost the only strips where I feel sorry for Lucy.

Did Lucy and Peppermint Patty ever hang out?
