Yes, the state of the country is, indeed, very sad.

Very different cartoon than today’s Non Sequitur, but because the point about alleged “fake news” is addressed, I will repeat an adapted version of what I posted on Non Sequitur:

Hilarious to hear the TrumpubliCONs whining about “fake news.”

Fake news is when lies are completely made up — FIBricated — out of thin air, “alternative facts” such as Hillary Clinton running a child trafficking operation from a pizza parlor.

Fake news is a made up phony TIME magazine cover.

Fake news is “alternative facts.”

Fake news is a Bowling Green massacre.

Fake news is a refugee terror attack in Sweden.

Fake news is the National Enquirer and Fox — not CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS, Washington Post or New York Times

Fake news is claiming a Hawaiian-born president was born in Kenya and that you are paying nonexistent investigators who are finding all kinds of amazing facts (that are never specified, much less documented).Fake news is lying about the size of a crowd at your inauguration or how many electoral college votes you get.

Real news is identifying well-documented facts from qualified sources with verifiable evidence, even if those actual, accurate facts make the liars who manufacture and peddle fake news uncomfortable, even when occasional mistakes are made that are promptly corrected.

Fake news is claiming that someone who LOST the actual vote by almost THREE MILLION is the legitimate president of the United States.

I also used to like the word “Beautiful” too. Sigh.

My doctor tells me fake news all the time.

I´d have to say the effect on people´s vocabulary – after twitter – is definately a negative.

Actually I agree that the expression “Fake News!” is out of control. Sisyphus needs to realize the boulder will never stay on top of the mountain.

Sadly, with bathroom scales as with fake news, accusations do not change reality.

Is is out of control. There’s a difference between saying “I disagree with your opinion” and “I don’t like facts.” That said, most news agencies have long abandoned facts.

Pig is using it correctly, since it obviously means “inconvenient facts.”

Bathroom scales have been called liars since their invention. The current climate just gives us a new name for it.
