Phoebe and Her Unicorn by Dana Simpson for June 20, 2012

Transcript:
Phoebe: Let's play something nobody wins or loses. Like... "DETECTIVE AGENCY?" I'll be intrepid sleuth Phoebe Hardboiledson, and you'll be... um... My desk! Marigold: Because I have four legs? That is typecasting. Phoebe: My car?
I like both comics in their own way it’s not a competition. If you don’t like it that’s fine, I couldn’t care less, but if you’re going to be critical at least be constructive and explain the particulars of why you don’t like it.
I have time to read both strips, and I’m able to enjoy both. There are comparisons to be made, sure, but I don’t see HN as a C&H ripoff. We have choices, read what you like. If you don’t like it, cull it from your line-up. If I think a strip is lame, I don’t bother with it.
I am with Kivana and rocketscientist on this. I love both strips, and look forward to reading them both every day, as well as many other strips. I certainly don’t go and compare them with each other, I just enjoy them and let them brighten my day a bit.
Not criticizing, but it seems like Marigold’s hooves look different than I recall. More, umm . . . obvious? Instead of being thinner and sleeker, and more concealed by her feathers.
Gocomics appears to offer a “zoom” feature, but it’s not available on any HN strips. Dana, have you considered offering some comics (maybe the big colored ones) in the larger format?

Hardboiledson? Was it really hard to come up with a surname for Phoebe, Dana?

I can see where having your own real imaginary creature might stunt one’s imagination.

And Phoebe is the one who is supposed to act childish.

I don’t recall mocking anyone. I tease sometimes. It’s generally affectionate.
