I started wearing glasses when I was six. It was a thorough bother, because back then glasses were actually made of glass. They were heavy and inclined to break. You could make them pretty much breakproof by using tempered glass, but then they were even heavier, not only for direct strength but because, not being optical glass, they had to be thicker to achieve the correct degree of refraction.
It’s generally considered rude to grab someone’s glasses and put them on without asking first, Phoe. (And I speak as someone who’s been on both sides of that…)
When I was nine girls and boys were different species. Girls dreamed about horses and unicorns. Boys could dream only of fast cars and motorcycles, speedboats and airplanes. For a girl horses were for hugging and grooming, with tails and manes for combing and braiding. For boys horses were for riding at the fastest possible gallop.
If I may wax prophetic… Something tells me the Shield of Boringness won’t make much of a difference to Max because he seems the type of boy who finds things which bore most other people kind of fascinating, in their own way.
Why is it so difficult for Gocomics to have the strip up in the early morning? Hosting comics appears to be the only thing they do; this shouldn’t keep happening.

Unless I’m mistaken, that’s an Evergreen State College tee shirt Max is wearing.

They did the almost same gag in Azumanga too. Also now this Phoebe looks like Hey Arnold’s Phoebe.

Upper part of the third panel…Phoebe looks like she’s trying to initiate the Vulcan Mind Meld. I grok that!
