Opal has a lot to learn from the younger generation.

You’re right; it’s not allowed; and now he’s going to be spanked for what he’s done.

I really have to applaud Brian Crane, for using this arc to educate a lot of “Senior” readers to the dangers of internet scams, by portraying Opal as the naive, and trusting mark.

Far too many people of my age, or older, fall prey to these cons. Even tight spam filters and ad blockers don’t deter these predators. They know that, as P.T.Barnum said: " There’s a sucker born every minute. "

Gullibility and Greed are a con man’s great enablers !

Truthfully victims of this scam (and similar) are not just trusting, but they believe they can get something for nothing, or close to it. Greed knows no age.

The old adage “if it seems too good to be true, it probably is” is truer than ever these days. Good rule of thumb? Don’t open ANY email that isn’t from a trusted friend, and even then look at the subject line first. One of my co-workers is very lax about his computer security and I get emails from him occasionally that have nothing to do with our working relationship. I don’t open them, then send him a separate email telling him he has a problem. Again.

It just goes to show that elderly people aren’t more wiser than young people.

Just my opinion. Don’t fire at me.

I’m of the younger generation. Your comment is outrageous, insensitive and incorrect. To say most are is ridiculous. Some yes.

QUOTE: Oh I think they are, especially if you are the young one because I’m not young anymore and I know better than to use “aren’t more wiser than young” I would just use “aren’t wiser that young.”-—————————That moment when you correct someone’s grammar and make a typo, so your response doesn’t make any sense. :) And is that a run-on sentence?

It’s a shame that Opal is so gullible. At her husband is on the ball. This time.

My neighbor was scammed out of $30,000 by someone he met at the local library while attending a Book Discussion Group.

It’s not correct to say that ‘they’ are stupid, they’re simply uninformed. Thanks Brian for helping to inform and educate, you’ve likely saved many folks from loss and heartache.
