Mom potty trained me by running water in the bathroom. Thanks a lot, Mom! I can’t even start the washing machine without having to make a run for it!

Suggestability

I found my old “ambient sounds” CDs about a month ago and immediately ripped them all to MP3s so I can play them from the computer..Opal’s right. Almost two-thirds of them are water-related, whether it’s rain, surf, streams or waterfalls. I think I’m going to cue up three of the exceptions (fireplace, desert winds, and train ride) when I turn in tonight.

I preferred the “rain” setting of my white noise machine, but I haven’t used it in a while—-when I can’t sleep it didn’t help much—-but if there were some outside noises, it helped mask them.Bet it still won’t stop him from getting up in the middle of the night to go…

Just the mention of a toilet does it for me.

It’s a trick they use in a hospital …

I can shop all day without having to use the facilities but as soon as I walk in my door……..i, too, call that the Pavlovian reaction. As far as sleeping, I have enough noises going on in my head – I don’t need extras.

i’d never get any sleep with watery sounds going. as it is i need a bathroom near my bedroom

I’m surprised it doesn’t cause Opal to rush to the can. It would do that to my wife.
