I’m sensing a theme here. As the saying goes, “familiarity breeds contempt.” Doesn’t mean they don’t love each other, though.

At Earl’s age, he deserves to loaf a bit.

She put in her two cents. Now how about two bright shiny pennies for your shoes!

“… Maybe it has to do with how love expresses itself over time…”

    .

You’re right. Age and knowledge, not to mention comfortability with your partner, allows for more freedom of expression in love.

    .

My wife and I will argue loudly or at other times “needle” each other on something. It doesn’t detract from how deeply we love each other, rather it adds spice and flavor to the relationship

    .

We are both volatile individuals by nature – The mix of a flinty Irishman with a fiery Ecuatoriana is bound to provide sparks and explosions.

    .

Neither of us ever holds a grudge and both of us know when to shut up and let the other person vent, when necessary.

    .

The love between two “seniors” tends ( IMHO) to be deeper, and more intense, and much more unconditional than our younger counterparts..

What are “Loafers” for exactly? I mean every kind of shoe serves a purpose but I’m not sure about Loafers.
