Earl? A disco maniac? That’s hard to believe.

If they’re in their 70’s they’d be a bit old for the disco era, they’d have been in their 30’s maybe.

Put it on the Internet. Nothing is ever gone from there.

Why regret something like that? I can see regretting a mug shot, but not a disco outfit. Is Earl really that fashion conscious?

Disco is the best dancing music ever!

The second panel reminds of a line I’ve always liked, from the Simpsons: “I never apologize for anything. I’m sorry, but that’s just the way I am.”

That’s probably what killed disco; when the over “twenty-somethings” got interested. I remember being a little disturbed when my mother remarked that Paul McCartney needed a haircut, but he was just so cute.

What he should have said is “What I am is frustrated that I haven’t found it and torn it to pieces yet, but I’m still looking. “

I hated disco !

Back in the late ‘60s and early ’70’, I lived and worked in Dublin, London and NYC. My sartorial affectations, in those days were very Carnaby Street – with a bit of Saville Row thrown in when I had to wear a suit and tie.

That said, I cringe when I remember the platform shoes, polyester suits, silk open neck shirts with wide collars and the gold bling around the neck. Shades of John Revolting !

There’s an old photo of my dad in his wedding suit from the mid 70’s: burnt orange with bell-bottoms, large collar. He was standing next to his Firebird. Our family laughs about that photo every time my mom pulls it from the album. Funniest thing ever, especially if you know my dad. “He couldn’t even be bothered to marry me in a nice suit, he had to pull out the ‘cool’ disco suit!” ~My mom

They’re still married going on 44 years this year. <3
