Tried sending checks to the grandkids for birthday, Christmas ( just so I’d know if they were received, nobody’s very good at thank-you notes). Kind of worked, but occasionally the checks were never cashed. Guess checks were not big enough? Ah yes…complain about lazy grandkids when I’m too lazy to go out and shop for a gift, then wrap it, mail it. Lots of trouble.

More generational fun: Had to explain to someone what a chequebook was. They asked if I had one and I realized I also haven’t had one in years and years. Huh.

New Zealand banks stopped using cheques in 2021.

Looks can be deceiving.
