I’d be rather pleased that my old rattle trap could go fast enough to actually get a ticket.

MANY years ago, my mom got a speeding ticket – I think it was her first. She had be driving a VW camper for several years, then we got a brand new Chevy Impala. We were going the speed limit and she wanted to pass a truck so stepped on the gas. Boy did that thing take off!!! Right thru a radar trap. 82 in a 55 zone. Lost her license for 3 months.

My mom was frequently stopped for speeding, but she never got a ticket. The local police remarked once – “There she goes, speeding down the road to Bingo.” Mom was in her 90s, and usually drove a carload of ‘younger folk.’

I once got a warning ticket for driving on the shoulder, getting out of the way of a boulder truck going 90 in a 55 highway.

There’s a reason for those run-off places on curvy mountain highways. Clue- they are not for pulling over to look at the view.

Cops don’t have any input on fines or discounts of same, see the Judge.
