The days of “2 for $25” Firestone tires is long, long gone… (I saw a few of those old ads on youtube). If you want to save, and have someone local who can mount them, buy a set of 4 tires off of eBay. It’s hard to counterfeit tires – but you take the risk that they aren’t the newest either… :-)
(Secret: Nitrogen fill in tires has a slight advantage, but only if it’s as dry as possible. It’s the water inside that tire that causes the larger pressure/variation which the nitrogen fill seeks to prevent. To gain that advantage, a tire would have to be filled and depressurized several times to purge the residual air and water vapor; an unlikely procedure at the tire store. Compounding the issue is the fact that soapy water is universally used as a mounting lubricant which remains inside the tire further negating the advantage. In other words the whole gambit is a bunch of malarkey just like every other advertising claim that the clowns in the marketing department dream up.)
Maybe after we elect Elizabeth Warren as President she’ll forgive our debt for new tires as well as the other “free” stuff she’s promising. After all, her record speaks for itself.

Plugger there better find a new auto parts shop and mechanic (might I suggest Auto Y Rod in the “Baldo” strip?)

What’s sad if like me to pay for a set of tires. I don’t drive that much these days. And the tires will go bad with age not mileage.

Recaps. Usually 4 out of five don’t leak. I fondly called them recraps.

That’s crazy! It should cost more than that! I’d never go to that place!

Wouldn’t a Plugger be getting “slightly used” tires from the auto salvage yard or recaps?

But that includes the free nitrogen fill up!

Most of my money doesn’t even wave to me as it flies by from direct deposit to bill pay!
