Reminds me of a couple of things my parents taught me. When a beaming parent shows off their baby, my dad would gaze on it and, with some wonder in his voice, say, “It’s a baby! What’s the name?” The parent would take the tone as a complement and not notice the lack of gender specificity and tell him the name. My mom would use “interesting” as her adjective of choice to avoid emotional reactions. “That’s an interesting idea” would be followed by a question which might cast a bit of doubt on the idea but wouldn’t totally negate it. Further conversation would allow the idea person a way of changing his/her mind without being forced to.

But what if the movie star the hairdo reminds you of is the Bride of Frankenstein?

Love, makes wives look like movie stars to their husbands all the time, regardless of her aging, weight gain, or even mastectomy scars…….

Pluggers write important stuff to remember on their hands.. part of the morning ritual as you plan your day.

I heartily disagree. Pluggers, as portrayed in this strip, wouldn’t notice a new hair style even after she asked what he thought.
