I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to dine outside, discover that I had not packed me something edible
I remember going out on a long hike in the deep woods of the Adirondacks with a local guide who was also a friend. About halfway through the hike, we came upon a guy sitting alone in the woods drinking a six pack of beer. My friend said that was his neighbor (neighbor in this case being about a mile away). Later that winter, I heard from my friend that that guy had killed his whole family and himself.
If you need to blow off steam, get out the flour bin and make some bread. Kneading dough is a great way to burn off frustration (one for you and one for your ugly kid!) and you have something to show for it when you are done.
When I worked at one of the Blue insurance companies, I baked enough bread to give it away to my coworkers!
My therapy is cleaning stalls and paddocks (very tranquilizing) while my horses hang around mugging for cookies, the dogs play politely with each other, the cats recline in the flowerbeds and The Man is trucking the wheelbarrow. Life is good when we all be together : )
Most of us could do with “woods therapy”. I honestly don’t understand how people can live stacked 50-high and never a see a tree not embedded in concrete.

And no ear buds or headphones. You need to listen to nature to truly appreciate it.

The therapy that I find best is happy activities with loved ones. If that includes walking in the woods, all the better.

Your day is coming, Caldonia! Sounds like you need to take a walk in the woods, yourself.
