Reminds me of the King of the Hill episode where Cotton using a match in a church bathroom to mask Bobby’s flatulence from eating all the lutefisk at a church potluck; Bobby accidentally set the church ablaze after giving his grandfather’s technique a go and throwing the match in the trash bin.

Then the framed poem on the wall;

“If you sprinkle when you tinkle, be a sweetie and wipe the seatie.”

“Some people come to sit and think…” —other people need the matches.

Beware of gas leaks ;-)

The old light and smoke a cigarette trick, eh?

We use scented candles. Lit before contaminating the air, they seem to cut down on the stink. Wondered if it wasn’t a controlled burn-off of the methane.

Our outhouse has enough natural ventilation. But matches do come in handy at night.

I love the smell of sulfur in the morning.

it works. fairly cheap solution. but on occasion, it can be time-consuming lighting all those matches.

I knew someone in my college days that was always lighting his farts. I don’t know as that helped clear the air.

Pluggers without small grandchildren visiting

Doesn’t waste water with a ‘courtesy flush’. No damp danglers either.

Dangerous, explosion possible when lit.

I’ve never understood the whole light a match thing. Aren’t you just replacing one unpleasant odor for another?

Seems a bit dangerous!

Now we know the source of global warming old farts and a match kind of reminds me of Congress old fart
