I think he needs more training, fellas. Look, he’s the bending the do-not-bend piece of mail in the final panel.

From my years delivering mail, I can tell you putting “Please” in front of that sentence goes a long way! And putting that on an over-sized envelope with 3rd class postage pretty much guarantees multiple folds…

@Perkycat, My Mom’s birthday was also Flag Day. Not a lot of people know when it is, but our family sure does.

@StelBel: A couple months ago, you said here that you had made one of my webpages one of your favorites, and I wrote back that the external links, in the pages it pointed to, may be out of date. Since then, I have moved the last trip to a different server, and have tried to bring all the links up-to-date.But, if you encounter problems with them, please e-mail me (@Dogsniff, @Gweedo … Murray, and maybe @Dry — Gweedo sent it to her when she was banned, but she never used it — all have one of my e-mail addresses, if you can’t figure one out from the webpage address) — you may be using a different browser or OS than what I tested them on. Thank you.

From time to time, we get a mailman who folds nearly all of our mail. I don’t know why, because the mail fits in the box just fine, there’s nothing oversized or unusual about it.There’s also the box stuffer, who for some absurd reason feels the overwhelming need to stuff the mail in the very back of the box, stuffing and mashing it in there until anything not paper is broken. He usually goes away when spring arrives and hornets take up residence in the back (that’s before we get rid of them. They set up shop one day after the mail has been delivered, and then the next day they’re in fighting shape when the mailman arrives).I’ve never seen these mailmen, only the evidence after the fact.We did have a mailman who insisted on bringing the mail right to you if you happened to be outside. It was nice, except for the fact that I had a protective and territorial dog who didn’t appreciate a stranger invading and striding swiftly in a straight line right for us. The mailman, despite the rumors that they fear dogs, was oblivious. However, usually we’ve got mailmen who do their job just fine. The mail shows up everyday, and without excessive wear and tear.

Our mailman always has a treat for Max, when we meet him on our walks. Smart guy!

About the rubber bands: we collect them in a see through bag which we keep by the door, and when the bag is about 1/2 full, I attach a note and hang them up on the mail box, and the mail carrier or the paper carrier, always takes them. I don’t know who takes them, but they are gone by the end of the day.

About the lovely stories about pets: thank you for sharing. We have a dog too, so I love to read about other people’s cat and dog stories.

Our daughter and Son-in-law lived here for Jan and Feb when they moved back from Maui,(they had their mail directed here) and she and i take the same magazines. Mailman would deliver only one of them, sometimes hers sometimes mine! Same with adverts. We called him on it, but he still did it! Finally had to tell the Postmaster before he stopped.

My college diploma had a big “Please DO NOT BEND” on it and yup it got bent. At least the wrinkle on it is not to bad. Let’s just say I was not happy with that mailman and he got a less than happy report from me to his manager.
