Don’t forget that Sears and Toys R Us were not killed by Amazon, they were looted by their ‘leadership’. Because shareholder democracy.

And, how much did Amazon pay in taxes? Diffrunt subject, but how much did Trump pay in taxes?

    Amazoned? Or Tariffs?

    Only time will tell.

(Though 45 does consider Amazon an “enemy.” So, I guess that will be the party line)

Their downtown was Walmarted years ago..

The slow inexorable death of suburbia won’t even leave any architecture worth revitalization.

I’ve largely stopped buying online. I guess it helps a lot to live in a city. My last four books have been from a local store. If they don’t have something they’ll order it.

I’ll still buy online sometimes, but only if I can’t find something locally.

I useta enjoy visiting different malls in my travels to peruse the different stores. Now all malls are alike with the same dozen franchises. No room for “Zorn’s banjos and BBQ”.

The malls will be replaced with Amazon distribution centers with worker housing around them. Amazon is one of the reasons retail is failing. People will pay premium pricing to get their stuff shipped overnight but will not make the effort to support a local store. Who is then killing retail???

Walmart killed a lot of business before Amazon showed up.

Randall Park Mall, once billed as the largest mall, died, was torn down, and replaced by an Amazon warehouse.

In order for Trump to owe taxes, he would have to show a profit. Profits are generally regarded as a sign of business success. If he were really successful in business, he would be trump-eting it from the high heavens!
