Go ahead everyone, make this about your side. More likely, make it about how bad the other side is, and not mention your side at all.

The other side is staffed entirely by crooked and mostly incompetent people. That is true whichever side you are looking from.

How is it not obvious that we need to get rid of political parties?

and Carmen’s response is exactly what we can’t get this fixed. Both sides feel this way – why agree when we can “win” (for whatever winning means – usually it means we get the most clicks on some social media site or TV pundits praise us).

Our problem today is that there is no clear majority in the nation’s population of our world view. After 300 years of lies about what goes on in this country, facts are not agreed on.

We have a 3rd of the nation that prefers white male supremacy over “liberal democracy”. Another 3rd of the population believes in the concept of “liberal democracy” with “liberty and justice for all”. The last 3rd is so beat down that they believe they are powerless to effect whatever happens.

To solve this problem, we need to start behaving like all lives matter. As a nation we have never tried that. Up to now we have behaved like profits are more valuable than human lives or life in general.
