I was a runner before I became a cyclist. I never heard anything but PR as a runner, but it always applied to race efforts. PR for that course, PR for this distance, etc. I hear both in the cycling community. I think rephrasing it “Personal Best” came from one or more of the different coaching books from the last ten years or so, and originally applied to training efforts. Now it seems like references to Strava are becoming the new way to describe personal achievements.
I agree with you. I like Principal Spaetzel and would be disappointed in Frazz if he were to undermine him in front of the students.
But I don’t think Frazz is saying Principal Spaetzel is a clueless person (or not worthy of being taken seriously,) but that you can trust his heart (not capable of being harsh,) and that from time to time he is capable of being a little absent minded or oblivious about some things. I think that Spaetzel himself has made reference to that a time or two.
You mean the car? It looks to me like the car was more in the bike lane (if it was a bike lane, which is purely conjecture on your part) than the cyclists were left of it. Unfortunately this type of blame shifting behavior is standard for drivers…
They’re thinking,“Thank god for the weather. It got rid of that arrogant, condescending Lidell kid.”
