I was that way when I had to go to contractor meetings at 0600. I’d sit there with my hands wrapped around my tea mug, looking vacant. Co-worker said I could hear what the were saying and would respond as soon as the tea kicked in. They would ask me questions, then continue on to the next item. Co-worker would say at the right time, she’s coming to the meeting, NOW! And I would rattle off answers to all their questions in order they were put forth without missing any in rapid fire mode. When I answered all the questions to that point the meeting resumed, and I was able to answer as the question was asked. Contractor’s only response was always, I didn’t think that was possible.
How the heck did she get there before coffee? All those people who go out for their coffee: do they have a quick cup to wake them up so they can drive?
