I respond to most texts from people I know, eventually. I check for voicemails a few times a day. But I only turn the ringer on when I’m actually on call for work.
I’m definitely an “ignorer.” Call me, and unless you’re my wife you’ll go directly to voicemail, and I’ll check and respond (or not) to that voicemail if and when I’m good and ready. I also don’t text. Those who know me know I’m best reached by email. I refuse to have a zillion strangers interrupting my day every minute.
I’m the guy in the second panel, though I have my phone with me most times. Most of my calls are from automated systems. I figure that’s why voicemail exists.
Had a photo op not too long ago while at a late lunch: a couple walked in with their young daughter who looked to be about 8. The couple sat on one side of their table facing the daughter … the couple were staring at phones, the daughter was reading a BOOK she had propped up by the table … I regret that I missed the shot … ironically I didn’t have my phone with me … memories …!
I have a cellphone, but ONLY grab it when I’m leaving the house, in case of emergency or a very random call. When I’m home, it’s sitting on a charger in the bedroom, with the ringer off. My VOIP based home phone is my primary phone.

Don’t you mean those who are on their phone all the time and those who have a life?

Recent conversation with my wife…
Me: I tried to call you earlier but there was no answer.
Wife: I must have been in the bathroom.
Me: You know, some people take their phones with them when they go to the bathroom.
Wife… Ewww, that’s just gross. (As if she never heard of pockets, Sheesh!)

If I ignore my phone how will I find out my car warranty is about to expire?

I never use phones, I just look at them to see myself. Who needs mirrors?

I’ve heard of people who leave their phones on all night. That’s wrong, plain wrong.
