I (who see travel as a voyage, an adventure to be relished) just ended a 22-day, 14-state, 5135-mile, 2-sons, 5-grandkids, 3-friends, 1-mother-in-law, 2-legendary-roads, 3-blizzards road trip with a wife/navigator who sees travel as a series of destinations, with the intervening parts as obstacles to be overcome as quickly as possible (and has no sense of direction with which to do the navigating…).

It was faster than waiting at the airport. An airline screwup can set you back days.

Road trips can be a lot of fun if you focus on the adventure instead of the discomfort.

I’m sorry the dive is the ONLY fun part. Once I get there I can hardly wait to drive home again.

At least they don’t have kids in the car. That would probably be beyond “no fun” into “anti-fun”.
