I’m so old I remember when gas station pumps had long hoses, for just this reason. A few (Costco) still do.

I must have been the last person on earth to learn that the little triangle next to the gas-pump symbol on the dashboard points to the side with the gas cap.

Is this an innuendo?

On a lot of cars, whichever side of the speedometer the gas gauge is located is the side of the car the gas door is on…

I thought I was the only one!!!

as a kid I always wanted to pump my own gas. Now on these single digit tmperature days I would not mind some one else doing it.

I’m so old I remember when gas caps were hidden: behind the license plate,behind the rear tail light and let’s not mention VW bugs(especially the ’66 model).

I don’t get why some folks pay big money for old gas pumps.

“And I’m too lazy to turn the car around.”

My favorite thing was watching a woman pull up to the pump at the local gas station, get out and seeing that the gas door was on the far side of the car, pull , turn around, and drive up on the other side of the pump, only to get out and see that the gas door was STILL on the wrong side of the car. She did that 3 times before she figured out that she had to pull up to a pump on THE OTHER SIDE.

All my most recent cars had the gas opening on the side opposite me. I have trouble with depth perception, so I always had trouble getting close enough to the pump to avoid being in the way of other people. Why do they do this? It would be so much easier if it was on the same side as the driver.

I’ve got two vehicles, one with the tank on the driver’s side and the other on the passenger’s. Of course, sometimes I forget and pull up to the pump on the wrong side.

On my car the gas fill symbol is crossed off.
