We ate leftover chili for Christmas dinner, but both of us were sick all week. We felt okay on Christmas Day but were in no shape to make a big dinner. The kids are coming in a a few days. We’ll celebrate then.

I always hated it when my mother gave away most of our leftovers to the company. It was bad enough they were eating the holiday meal in the first place but why should they get most of the leftovers too?

I’d trade any of my leftovers for some pecan pie.

Just 2 of us here, but I bought a ham just to get the bone for New years black eyed peas. We’ll be eating ham all week.

My sister and her husband prepare Christmas dinner (and Thanksgiving dinner, and several other holiday meals, too): he handles most of the main course, while she’s the virtuoso maker of desserts. Being invited over to their place is wonderful for my taste buds, but murder on my waistline.

My dad had lots of New York minutes and they stretched into hours…

I came home on 12/24 with a chocolate cake for our Christmas Eve gathering. A pecan pie would have been my first choice, but the store didn’t have any.

Whenever we’d have friends over, my wife would always pack up the leftovers and send them home with them…and I hafta confess…I’d be standing there, helplessly, screaming to myself inside…“NOOOOOO!”…(she’s evidently a lot more generous than I am! Lol!)

Whenever my bro-in-law attends any kind of dinner, there’s NEVER any leftovers…often times not even enough for a first helping for everyone if he’s one of the early ones.
