Remember when cars had vent windows? My cat escaped her box and made it to the front of the car and half way out the vent. I caught her tail while my ten year old steered – in the fast lane on a freeway!
Some cats do like car rides. I had a tuxedo kitty (my first kitty actually) who loved to ride in the car on my lap (before I knew she should’ve been in a carrier) and purred the whole way.
Not a cat story, but I was once driving down a highway when a pickup passed me at high speed….in the back of the truck was an excited looking dog. I thought, “That dog’s gonna jump out”. Sure enough, when it got further down the highway I watched as the dog jumped. It hit the road and rolled and rolled and rolled, legs flailing. The car in front of me stopped to help the dog as I sped up to catch the idiot owner who didn’t realize what happened. I could only tell that the dog looked ok in my mirror. By the time I caught up to the truck, it was pulling over; I guess by then he knew his dog jumped. What an idiot. I wish I had a dash cam.
