My parents had a ball chasing nut that loved putting it in front of the mower while I worked. I put the ball in a tree; she still brought it back. Long story short, after several times putting the ball higher, when she jumped back down from over twelve feet I was afraid she’d get hurt so I ended that game. I still miss that crazy dog.
My large dogs made leap paths. Where they hit dirt, the sun would start melting away the surrounding snow, but it was a slow process, even in the American South where snow goes away fairly fast.

Red, you just wait … my paws are freezing cold. When you least expect it, you’ll be warming them up.
