Grass stains, holey jeans & bare feet. Taking summer into the school year, courtesy of Rover!

Shiny slick slacks after a summer in jeans. I still haven’t recovered.

If I’d done something like that in my school clothes I wouldn’t have to worry about the seat getting worn out because I wouldn’t have been able to sit for quite a while!

My oldest boy was worried about wearing pants with a hole in the knee to Kindergarten one day. I said, “Oh, but knee-holes are an important part of a boy’s outfit!”

That day, the teacher had them draw pictures of themselves, and he even included the important knee hole.

The no jean rule was totally responsible for the hideous plad and corduroy pants from Sears and Montgomery Wards I had to wear in the late 60’s and early 70’s. There were not any fashion police then!

You won’t think it’s cute when he gets back indoors, Dad!

this is cute and charming. What I don’t understand are the full grown adults buying jeans with holes already in them!

The phrase “gives character” is similar to “builds character” which is often used by Calvin’s Dad in my favourite comic strip.

For 30 bucks extra you could of bought pre-worn out jeans.

I still remember getting new blue jeans – they were so stiff! Then someone came out with “stonewashed” jeans in the ‘70s – pure genius!

Raise your hand if you remember “tough skins” jeans! My mom got them for me as a kid for exactly this reason – which I took as a challenge!

They don’t see that he is wearing his new school clothes.

While I briefly went to public school for four months, I went to Catholic school otherwise, so I can’t relate to pants for school. I felt weird when I started Penn State, but I was quite comfortable when I finished my fourth degree nine years later.
