Shoulda have only eaten the hole in the middle, Red

I remember every summer we’d go to a “family reunion” (I don’t know if it was my mom’s or dad’s family, as neither of their siblings were there). There was a huge pool. However, once lunch was served (burgers on the grill, of course), the pool was CLOSED for an hour. We little kids kept an eye on the clock so we’d know when we could get back in!

Maybe – Red…Rover would like you to share a donut with him and the rules will be relaxed a bit

That’s what Mom made us kids do. Those were very long minutes.

It was an hour for us.

I wonder if the myth started from having to go easy on infants after their feedings, too much jostling/bouncy and up comes their milk!

This myth (about waiting after eating before swimming) was exploded about 50 years ago. However, I realize this comic strip is set in the past — when dogs were allowed to run free.

It’s because it takes thirty minutes to fry up another batch of donuts.

A donut is NOT a meal.

I thought it was an hour.Then again, there are those who somehow refer to a THIRTY-minute lunchtime as a lunch hour!
