“We all live in a (cardboard) submarine…”

A cardboard submarine is so fake- unlike the spy decoder ring I sent away for.

The toys were usually better than the cereal!

I remember those days, whenever I had enough box tops, they didn’t have that toy anymore (sigh..)

Boy did mine ever soak thru quick in the swimming pool!!

Awe! I’ll give you tons of squeaker toys, little one!

Actually, the Squeaky Toy ads need to be on the back of cereal boxes…….

Not gonna happen, Rover.

I remember those little submarines that you got in cereal that worked off of baking soda.

In my day, a quarter and a cereal box top got you a decoder ring……..6 weeks later.

Awww…

I don’t recall cardboard submarines. I do remember the plastic ones which came as cereal prizes and were propelled by baking soda. Kelloggs also issued baking soda powered US Navy frogmen.

They probably do ……now!!!!

I was so disappointed that the plane I sent for didn’t actually fly

Cardboard submarine. Oh come on Red, I got a real plastic diving submarine from the back of a cereal box, in fact I still have it. You took the top of the conning tower off, put in some baking soda, put the top back on and put it in the bathtub when you took a bath. It would dive and surface all on its own.

Don’t make me start feeling nostalgic again, Mr. Basset!
