Ripley's Believe It or Not! POOKIE!! New research suggests that cats, like dogs, recognize their owners' voices - but they usually choose to ignore them. Ancient Romans could buy vials of sweat and dirt scraped from the skin of famous gladiators - some used it as face cream. British World War II gunner Nicholas Alkemade survived with just minor injuries after jumping 18,000 feet from his flaming bomber plane without a parachute and landing in deep snow.
That must have been over Russia or somewhere. It would have to be heavy snow and I believe over 10 feet deep to stop a 150 pound man traveling at 120 MPH.
