Cows have more than 800 blood types- humans have 8 and cats only 3! Yup! That's me. Whole lotta hair! In 1972, Led Zeppelin canceled a show in Singapore after being prevented from leaving their plane due to their long hair- which was illegal at the time. The scientific name for the fly, Brachyanax Thelestrephones, means little chief nipple twister in Greek!

So, how did Led Zeppelin get booked in SIngapore? As for the three blood types found in cats, I wonder what’s Garfield’s. As for the fly’s scientific name, why is it called that?

I hope the PETA people realize that eating them is probably easier than keeping a bovine blood bank to deal with any transfusion needs the cows might have.

A, B, AB, and O. I believe humans have four blood types, not counting the positive and negative variations.

I think they meant Latin, for the fly – it certainly isn’t modern, or even classical Greek.

If you take the 4 A/B blood types, and multiply by the two RH blood types, you get 8. But, aren’t there more blood type categories than those 2? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_blood_group_systems

Only thing I could find about the fly was an April Fool’s article.
