Single-handed save! A one armed pilot lost control of a passenger plane when his prosthetic arm fell off during landing at an Irish Airport in February 2014- but he still managed to land the plane safely! Prankster W. Reginald Bray, of London, England, sent thousands of unusual items in the mail in the early 20th century, including his Irish terrier Bob and even himself on more than one occasion! Professor Sam van Aken of Syracuse University, New York, cultivates trees that produce up to 40 different types of fruit- including peaches, plums, cherries and almonds- on one tree!

I wonder if this one-armed pilot always had mishaps like those .

I read the story & don’t recall that the pilot “lost control” of the aircraft. No big deal flying with the other good arm, & I am sure the copilot was there to help. Anything to make a dull story sound like something it wasn’t, to make a headline.

That must be a very ugly tree.

There are no cherries on his tree. All the others mentioned are very close relatives and may be grafted to each other, even almonds.

Mailing yourself a long distance is a lot cheaper than conventional travel. But you get what you pay for.

Spraying for insects on that tree would be a nightmare -most fruits require different procedures?

Grafting is not as easy as it sounds and I wonder if the grape would grow from a tree?

I definitely want that fruit tree as soon as I have a place to plant it.
