How are those dolphins coming along? (Reading the word “librocubicularist” might just make you fall asleep.)

Now we need words to distinguish between reading a book in bed or reading from an e-reader (e.g., Kindle) in bed.

At my airline, we flew Flipper, Judy the Chimp, and the Clarence the Cross Eyed Lion from California to Florida on a regular basis with a change of planes in Atlanta. In those days, we had planes for cargo only, and Flipper was in her own tank. If we could, we would go over to Air Cargo and pet Flipper. She LOVED the attention. Judy was a lot of fun to play with, too. Being in a small cage, the lion was not a happy traveler, so we were not allowed to pet him. We never understood why they had to fly those animals from California to Florida to film a TV series. I mean, after all, the last time I was in California they had an ocean of their own.

It’s a theory that Van Gogh was able to visualize fluid dynamics and turbulence and that is what his Starry Night is actually a painting of.
