Well, Texas is bigger than the entirety of Michigan.

How would you like to have been a fly in the cockpit of that plane?

Kind of makes the British royals look pretty insignificant without their former Empire.

An Eleanor Roosevelt believe it or not that I’ve told for many years… and was never believed until the advent of the internet. Now the proof is on YouTube.

She did a TV commercial for Good Luck margarine in 1959.

I admit I wondered WHY she’d done that. Turns out, the margarine company promised a big check to the charity of her choice.

I saw the words “night clothes” and thought at first they were in pajamas.

Here’s something you don’t hear very often: I’m a native Ohioan, and I love Michigan! I’ve never made it to the upper peninsula, though – I’ll bet it’s beautiful.

I’ll bet it was Eleanor’s idea to make the flight.

When I was younger, I took an introductory flying lesson. It was the first time I was in a plane (I had been in a helicopter though.) We went through the pre-flight inspection, got in, and took off. While we were circling the airport, the instructor told me to take hold of the wheels, and put my feet on the rudder pedals. I did. He went through a couple of turns and such. Then he pulled his feet and hands back, grinned and said, “You’re flying the plane.” I was so scared, I was literally frozen in place. I imagine it was also only seconds, but it felt like eternity.
