May the gored be with you as she is with the tree. And gesundheit.
Okay,I’m going to exaggerate a little for comic effect—-but the basic facts can be confirmed through the Yale Museum of Natural History—New Haven,Connecticut.
A Yale professor decided he could find dinosaur skeletons in acertain area of South Dakota in the 1870’s or so.
Being an “absent minded professor”,he was unaware that he had arrived in the Dakotas at the height of hostilities between the US Cavalry and the local Indians.
So he just wanders in and starts digging, and in no time he’s surrounded by Indians who ask him what he doing there.
The p rofessor says—“Well,Chief,I’m out here looking for dinosaurs!”
Chief says—“White Man wacky. Bring-um strait jacket”.
The tribe allowed the professor to excavate under heavy guard—-and the Prof hit the mother lode discovery that made his scientific reputation for life.
When the Prof was in his old age and they were giving him a banquet in his honor;he discovered the Chief was still alive and insisted he be brought to Yale as an honor guest.
One of that Chief’s more elaborate headdresses is in t he Natural History Museum.
On a cruise, I watched a frigatebird soaring back and forth over my ship. I worried that it would take a dump any minute. It did — on my sister. My mom likened me to the Twilight Zone boy.
The frigatebird thing, if true, is a most peculiar, oddball even, corner of evolution. The bamboo thing is…meh. It’s like someone hasn’t spent much time around growing things or wind.

They probably got the idea from Swiss Family Robinson, who lived in a treehouse.

That bamboo item reminds me of the 1950s song “House of Bamboo”. It’s on YouTube!
