“Maybe this time trickle down will work " is about the only justification for the tax plan that gives a small ever decreasing tax cut to the middle class and enhances inequality permanently. Being bad at math, science, and economics does not make for a good congress.
Trickle down hasn’t worked even one time that it has been tried. It won’t this time either and logically never could. If you pay a guy to mow your lawn, he’s doing a decent job— then you get a raise at work. Do you hire another guy to help him or give him a raise? Neither will the 1%ers. The only way they will hire more people is if the current staff is unable to produce enough product to meet the demand. The only way to increase demand is to put more money in the hands of those who will spend it, not stash it in the Caymans. So, TRICKLE UP is what works, and benefits everyone, including the 1%ers.
The average American is generous.. in exchange for a small decrease in taxes paid he surely does not mind the few (< 1%) that will reap a bonanza.. He.. won’t mind cutting back on a few essentials when his bills go up because that extra take home pay almost makes up the difference.
The corporate tax cut it a good thing. Rogers doesn’t understand that corporations don’t pay taxes, people pay taxes. When a corporation is taxed they are just being a tax collector for the government. They pay that money in one of three ways or a combination of the three. 1. They charge more for their product. 2. They pay their employees less. 3. They pay less dividends on their stock. It doesn’t matter how you spin it, corporations don’t pay taxes, “the people” pay taxes.

What’s this about a permanent tax cut for the rich? When did we get conquered by the Empire of the Medes & Persians?
