You know that all those Hot-Dogs are very closely related to each other. It’s true. When you look at a lot of Hot-Dogs. Just look and see how many of them are in-bread.
I remember my favorite place to get hot dogs when I was a kid, a little place called Pete’s Hot Dogs, in Newburgh, New York. They came one of four ways: plain, with mustard, with sauerkraut, or with mustard and sauerkraut. That was it.
I love a good hot dog – it is often one lunch after a Costco run – but somehow there just isn’t ever the … romance … you see when actors are eating hot dogs in movies.
Hmmm….when I was a younger adult, I existed (existed-being the key word) almost entirely on hot dogs (aka rolled steak), or garlic-butter angel hair, or when (gasp) I had enough money for the makings of real home made quarter pounder bacon cheeseburgers (that’s before MacD’s version). Nowadays, as a senior, it’s pretty much the same.. funny how a limited budget limits your expectations.
When switching planes at Dallas Airport we were directed top the wrong gate, & had to run on rolling path to correct gate in time to board. No meal on connecting flight, but managed to grab a Nathan’s hot dog near our departure gate before boarding. After we took off I unwrapped Nathan’s hot dog loaded with everything. Took 20 minutes to cherish each small bite causing a salivating odor to permeate my section of the cabin.

Hot dogs taste best when skating on the canal in Ottawa.

The Gumbos family has a knack to enjoy little things in life that matter most. I love this family.
