He wanted to sing beautifully. Picky, picky.

Bird’s a solo act. I can dig it. Not many are into ensemble work (although there are some mockingbirds who take to it).

The squirrel doesn’t have a twitter account. So he can’t join in.

Squirrels can’t sing! They can chatter or make a sound similar to an injured cat though.

The look the bird gives in the third panel…

I seem to recall that a screech owl occasionally visits this strip. The squirrel can try and harmonize with the owl. Then he can become lunch for the owl too.

Guess the bird didn’t want to start a singing group. Thought the squirrel would hog up the spotlight

“I wouldn’t mind, if only you could harmonize.”

Murphy can’t carry a Tune in a pilfered bucket.

He can, however, pilfer that Bucket.

Squirrels here look too stylized. This one reminds me of a Popeye character. :D
