Oh to have a nice tree to sit under. While the sun shines through the leaves which are rustling with a light breeze. And butterflies are flitting from one daisy to another. And in my lap is a good Irish Saga. Or maybe a Norse Saga. Or a tale of Greek Gods and Heroes. To sit and dream under sunny sky of things of yester year. Of Heroes and villains, dragons and monsters, and ladies and princess to rescue. Of far off lands to see in ones mind’s eye. Oh what things a good book and an imagination can do on a Summer day under tree.
I know you’re way to young for this book, Pasquale, but DON’T read Olive Kitteridge. Our book club just finished and it is the most dismal string of stories about the most distasteful people you’ll ever meet. Try rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson series. . .or, wait, no, you’re five. . .uh, try some Mother West wind stories. You like nature. . .
Pasquale is my kinda guy - loved to swim but also rode my bike to the library every week — Clem doesn’t know what he’s missing (never cared for him anyway)
The fun doesn’t have to end when you discuss your summer reading choices. The reading rainbow is just as comfortable in the pool as it is at the kitchen table.

Spent many an hour reading books during the summer and we didn’t have those lists they have today. We read because we loved to read.

You made sitting in the wading pool work. Don’t do that.

…and now Pasquale has the pool all to himself. So that’s how you get rid of hoggish Clem!

This can happen only in the Gumbo’s realm. Just the contrary is happening most of the time elsewhere.

Why not discuss while using the pool?
