School supply season! My FAVORITE time of the year and has been since I started school. I love office/school supplies. As a child they were among my favorite toys – along with dolls to populate the school. Bought a new journal this year – last one I bought in 2020. Husband keeps wondering why “I need this book” as I don’t tell him why and I hide it. (He knows “I need this” means I want it.)

Pasquale’s teacher, [I forgot her name] has great supportive parents who help her do her best with her students.

Such a shame that teachers have to buy for their classrooms. The only profession in the USA where people steal supplies from home to take to work.

Oh to be young enough (and flexible enough) to sit on the sofa like that!

Question we should be asking…Why is the teachers home full of school supplies that she bought? The school district should be financing that, unfortunately they don’t leaving it up to the teacher. Think if you had to provide all your own office supplies for your work.

She’s a TEACHER. It’s a crime that teachers have to spend their own money to buy school supplies for their classrooms. Just one thing that’s wrong with the education system in our country.

Back in the late 50’s and early 60’s the only thing the school provided was this crazy light brown paper that actually had tiny chunks of wood in the lined paper. If your pencil ran into a chunk it would invariably tear the paper. Parents had to ensure their kids had school supplies.

So sad that teachers have to buy so many of their classroom needs out of their own pocket. So many kids would suffer if teachers did not stretch their meagre salary to buy what is not supplied. Pay them what they are worth. They are in charge of the future.

I’m with you! I LOVED browsing through a stationary store even after I was out of school. One of the big disappointments in my life is that Staples or Office Max doesn’t supply the same thrill. (And I’m not mentioning the half-aisle of pens, pencils and paper at the grocery store.)
