But teddy is thirsty.

Sorry, Teddy; you’re on your own…

Seems most young things , animals especially, play hard and fall asleep when it hits them, where ever, when ever.

But, Teddy’s are patient.

i remember when my brother would fall asleep at the dining room table, as he was trying to eat his supper

Sleep “napnia”.

Tea … minus … ten … nine … eight … seven …

The eyes wiggle from the hostess’s snoring.

But who’s going to take Teddy to the potty?

I’d be worried about what that tea is made from if I were her guest.

I swear I saw the eyes move

Wakez upz, little princes. Itz is teaz time.

I have a large collection of teddy (and other) bears. They are of just about every material one can imagine plastic, fabric, glass, ceramic, wood, rubber, paper, etc. The collection started with an old Teddy bear (who I named Theodore David Bear) who I found at home and would take with me when I spent the night in a friend’s dorm room at college – he would keep her Pierre Bear company while we were out.

People – including started buying me bears. Theodore ended up with 3 sons and a friend Maxwell Bear (collecting Maxwell House Instant Coffee labels is how I got him – he has 3 sons also). I now have well over a hundred bears – maybe over 200 or more. Size varies from 1/2 inch to about 3 feet tall.

When I had too many bears on our Christmas tree we started a foot Christmas tree upstairs just for some of the ornaments – while the rest stay on the main tree. Eventually a Christmas Village of bears grew up around the small tree upstairs. It is now a year round Teddy Village. The bears are changed in it more or less by month to match same. Idea came to me one year when husband was upset that the Christmas Bear village was being packed. First thing I thought of was that the same bear musicians who play for the caroling and in the parade could play at the Village Gazebo (intended by manufacturer to be a bird feeder ) for summer concerts. I will be soon be setting up the Thanksgiving reenactor bears – Pilgrims and Natives with a large light up cornstalk house.

It is extremely silly, but during the Covid lockdowns, we had a place “to go”. During the early period of same bears were mostly stored away with doctor, nurse, police bears out and about as were the bears who owned food stores or restaurants they set up delivery service. The accountant bear (named for my dad) setups his annual popup office in the park – since our state had said tax preparers were emergency service he was set up during the lockdown also.
