The Starland Vocal Band has actually said that the National Anthem was the inspiration for their song.
Originally called The Star-Spangled B0ner.
I doubt someone watching a war could inspire that horrible Afternoon Delight song.
The best part of that song was the the non-family friendly image that ‘afternoon delight’ invoked.
Since it’s a departure from his style would it be considered off Key?
