I’ve gotten phone calls from mimes. If you listen close to the silence, you can hear them flinging their arms around. Yeah, I’m sure of it…

What is the mime actually doing in the second panel? With the left arm, either leaning on an imaginary box or looking at an imaginary watch, but with the right hand tweaking… something… ???

There was an old mime handing out ad cards at the hotel across the street from my office. He handed me one, I looked at it and said, “I don’t know. I don’t speak French.” His eyes lit up, but he never broke character.
