I wish the airlines were stricter about enforcing their own carry-on rules. Nobody should have to stow their “legal” stuff more than a seat distant because others have brought too much or oversized items.
I won’t use commercial air anymore! If I need to travel, and I can’t get there by air or train, I use Netjets. I have a nephew who is a pilot for them…
Amazing how the major airlines ( worldwide, not just the U.S. ) manage to lose your luggage right around the holidays. They must mysteriously sense that those grandkids presents or that special gift for Aunt Minnie are safely secreted in your Samsonite !
Hey, 25 years ago, I used to deliver lost luggage to people’s hotel rooms, residences, etc. Best contract job I ever had. The airlines are WAY more efficient with not losing luggage now, but that’s little solace when your bag is M.I.A. in MIA, where most bags were rifled through for goodies.

Wouldn’t they have carrion luggage?

That takes planning and effort. I’m not seeing that happen.
