There’s a movie called “Snatch”. In it Brad Pit plays a character that is a bit difficult to understand at times. At one point, even the closed caption can’t figure out what he is saying.
I once saw a picture of Keith Richards with a coffin nail hanging from his lips the caption under it that read, “Isn’t it time for us to start thinking about what kind of world we are going to leave Keith Richards?”
There was another of Keith Richards holding a baby. The caption for that one read, “Keith Richards holding Betty White at her birth.”
Watched the Bob Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown, this week with Timothee Chalamet. I will need to watch it again when it is streaming so I can turn on the Closed Captioning. He had his mumble down perfectly, too perfectly at times.
If you ever heard Robin Williams bit about meeting with a Scotsman you’d understand. Of course, that is followed by arguably the funniest 4 minute bit you will ever hear – the invention of golf.
Not wrong. I often watch movies with the captioning on because I am getting hard of hearing and there is an annoying trend in Hollywood to have the music and sound effects too loud and spoken dialog too quiet.
When Jay Leno first became the Tonight Show host, he thanked Keith Richards for being in the audience. It was a skeleton with a bandana and a cigarette.

That works for Ozzy as well.

Not even closed captioning would help a documentary about Ozzie Osborne.

His autobiography is one of the better and honest ones ever written I must admit.
